Shame Destroyer brings you brand new music from Dutnoff and Devin Stoneham, plus re-issues from Vaslav and the ongoing Passion d’Flower re-masters!

New single by Canadian singer-songwriter Devin Stoneham.
“It was a horrible week, and I wanted to scream. A small chimney fire and a leaking roof forced me to live in half of the chicken coop, blocked off with a tarp. It went so bad that I started reading the bible.
While I sat on a cot listening to the rain, I was half heartedly reading and gently strumming my ukulele. This song just came together.
It really turned into a rocker when I pounded out the drum track. When I recorded the vocals at The Back Cabin, my simple studio, I could hear the cows bawling in my neighbour’s field, between takes.
Even the cows were melancholy that day…”

“Named after both a guitar and the idea that our lives last forever though we’ve barely been here but for a minute. This is a jazzy electro-instrumental splattered by a sort of stream-of-consciousness story about something that dangles between religious poetry and dime-store trash. Either way, this one is as catchy as they get, and could ride on an elevator for 40-odd storeys, take you through traffic, and introduce your podcast on breakfast television. Jazzy guitars, almost-Lemmy-ish distorted bass, and a story over top of it all. What more can I offer you? Nothing, I’m afraid.”

“Employed,” is the latest single from VASLAV. The sound is rootsy, yet original – pensive, yet quirky and fun, as Vaslav often is. It might remind you of Tom Waits and early David Bowie, amongst other dreamy things. Lyrically, Employed is about reflecting on reality (not about Vaslav’s other job, when he’s not making music). Life has ups and downs – and we just deal with them.
